Greyhound was originated in Bangkok and has branches in different places in Hong Kong; the newest addition is in Shatin in the New Town Plaza Mall. The Thai Iced Tea tasted like it was straight from Bangkok, and I really love the Salmon Carpaccio in spicy hot sauce appetizer.
It is like the classic Thai shrimp sashimi, but with the salmon twist. The salmon is fatty, and strike a great balance with the sour basil sauce.
Greyhound famous fried chicken wing is still good. It’s almost like the fries in Mac Donald now that it would be weird if you don’t order this dish if you come here. Is it 10 out of 10 good? No… but it has been a pretty good standard across different branches. A solid 8.5
The crispy pork knuckle with chili paste is decent. Thai dishes are always about balancing the fat with the sour kick, and this dish is no different. It comes with a small serving of stick rice, and the combo is quite nice.
Well-known yellow curry crab on rice is full of surprises. Almost every bite comes with a good amount of crab meat, and the yellow curry is sweet and flavorful. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts in Thai sauce, and it would have been perfect if it’s not so oily, but still really good veggie dish indeed.
Don’t go without the crepe cake. We ordered the Thai ice coffee flavor one, and I love the little giraffe biscuits on top. The restaurant is cute and clean, and the wait staff was all quite friendly. A good pick at the New Town Plaza!
