I have to be honest here, I've been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years, with my parents coming before I was born, so there is a certain sentiment to this review.Over the years Rainbow has slowly dominated the seafood business at Sok Kwu Wan, owning pretty much all the restaurants along the stretch. Over the years Rainbow has slowly dominated the seafood business at Sok Kwu Wan, owning pretty much all the restaurants along the stretch. This restaurant naturally doesn't have the most fancy seafood compared to Rainbow, but based on personal experience plus comments from friends, the quality of their food is definitely on par with with the big names, and more often than not are better.
The clams are my personal favorite and the prawns in soy sauce is something you'll never be able to cook at home. The deep fried squid when fresh is out of this world, and is the one dish I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Their fried rice is quite famous, and great if you're dining with a couple others so you aren't filled up with rice. Everything else is good, but those are my top choices. The average per head was quite high for my meal, it was for 2 only with a lobster, so you can see from the photos we feasted big time.
