My friend took me here with her Google map on a Saturday afternoon to explore this cafe. The place was busy and we had to get in line for coffee! That's a big no to me usually but luckily, it's a short wait and a server gave us the menu to keep us interested.The servers are polite but service was a bit chaotic. The place is small and with all seats occupied, we feel pressured to order more but that feeling dissipates quickly as service is really slow.Nothing extraordinary on the drink menu except Dirty which sounds catchy so we order it. It's actually expresso poured in a glass of cold milk without stirring. Not bad. It's like cold latte.
We want to order either dessert on the menu but for one we have to wait for an hour and the other it's sold out so we have this Cherry Brownie instead. It's cute and tastes all right with a fresh cherry for garnish. Time goes by fast and the server comes back 40 minutes later to notify us that the Earl Grey Milk Chocolate with Cremeux and Banana Ice-cream is available so we order yet another chocolate item. Funny though, this takes another 30 minutes to make. However, the presentation is attractive with raspberries, grape slices, sweet sauce, dried raspberries and cocoa crumbs sprinkled nicely on the plate. The handmade banana ice-cream tastes good with crunchy bits on top and the chocolate cremeux with earl grey flavor tastes just as fantastic. It's delicious and taste wise sophisticated which totally takes me by surprise.
Altogether, it's a nice place to wind down and kill time on a less busy day as service and order come slowly but I wouldn't just come all the way and walk uphill on summer days to relax unless we are in the neighborhood.
