We were thinking of eating something else but then we grabbed a flyer on our way there. Looking dow, it looked new and appealing so decided to give this one a try instead.
Offering hot pot all you can eat, it was $158 for two hours of pigging out.
Ordering of beef, pork, lamb and seafood is via a check off list. We decided to just get everything and see how the quality was.The quality was fairly good for all you can eat. Though some were a bit on the fat side.
Not that many all you can eat buffets offer seafood as part of the package. Usually you have to add extra. This was a pleasant surprise. The seafood included were fairly fresh. Though the clams had a bit of sand in them.
The sides (such as balls and vegetables) were served buffet style. They also have various drinks and dessert. Everything was placed in fridge like compartments instead of other places where they are placed on a table. This, to me, felt a lot more hygenic.
Even the fruit was placed in a fridge!
They not only offered ice cream, but ice cream bars! WOW!
We chose two soup bases. Spicy (for boyfriend) and something called almond (for me). I didn't taste the spicy one but boyfriend said it was fairly spicy and not the Sichuan style either. My almond one had a lot of mushrooms in them. It was ok. Not much almond flavor but I found many all you can eat places, the soup base is never really good. And as it was white, I really couldn't find most of the food I threw in to cook.
This was odd as they had mochi for throwing into the hot pot. We tried it and wasn't too thrilled with it. I don't think we'd do that again.
They also had a dessert fridge. The dessert wasn't too good. I'd go directly the ice cream.
This was the most bizarre of all. Nothing worked in this dessert.
Overall, pretty good hotpot experience. I liked how the place was very clean, though it may also be due to it being new. Boyfriend returned a few weeks later and he claimed it was now greasy feeling. Seating was spacious. Food hygenically placed in fridges. Plates were removed as soon as they were empty and buffet area was constantly refilled. I would most like be back.
