中国近代文人郭沫若在他的诗词《𧹖波曲 》曾写:「少年时代在故乡四川吃的白砍鸡,白生生的肉块,红殷殷的油辣子海椒,现在想来还口水长流……。」所以一句馋涎挂嘴的「口水」,形容得很生动,就叫口水鸡。
