I've just had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had to endure in Hong Kong. Please, allow me to elaborate...First of all, we waited about 30 minutes for the 'camembert', which, not only wasn't a camembert cheese with dipping bread, as you might reasonably expect for this price, but was 6 tepid wedges of lukewarm cheese that might as well have been cheddar coated in the crumbs left in the bottom of a bag of Lays potato chips, served with half a lime, seeds included, and a stingy dollo

First of all, we waited about 30 minutes for the 'camembert', which, not only wasn't a camembert cheese with dipping bread, as you might reasonably expect for this price, but was 6 tepid wedges of lukewarm cheese that might as well have been cheddar coated in the crumbs left in the bottom of a bag of Lays potato chips, served with half a lime, seeds included, and a stingy dollop of honeycomb. I don't know how you get hot cheese wrong, but this place somehow managed it.

At this point, I wish we'd done the wise thing and got up and left, but we held out in hope of some delicious main course dishes to satiate our now ravenous hunger. Cue the chicken saltimbocca - 3 miserable chests of a sad chicken uncerimoniously wrapped in cheap parma ham, served with McDonald's fries and a salad in a bag bought from the local Market Place. Effing awful. I could've slit my wrists with the chicken it was that dry - and I probably would've enjoyed myself more than I did eating it! Alongside that, my dining partner chose the barramundi, and at $325 you'd think you can't go wrong. Well, we bloody well did. I've had better meals from the chilled cabinet in the 7-11. I'd have been annoyed paying $100 for that. The mash was alright. But that's an expensive plate of mash!

So, in summary, if you're unlucky enough to find yourself in St Bart's on High Street in Sai Ying Pun, forget the food and order a draught Stella, which is easily the best thing on that God-forsaken menu.

More awful reviews coming to an Openrice near you soon!
题外话/补充资料: I was in a fantastic mood upon arriving at St Bart's, and now I'm questioning the meaning of my own existence. I mean, what is the point of life? If it's to eat out at St Bart's, I'm not sure that's a future I want for my children and my children's children. If I'm not being clear enough, what I'm trying to say is that I won't be going back anytime soon...
