Waking up early, boyfriend met me for breakfast near my home. We decided to head to a cha chan teng that I had neglected called 万兴茶餐厅 (English name: Man Hing Restaurant). Happy Valley doesn't have a lot of cha chan tengs so this was a pretty old one.Menu is located on the wall. It's in Chinese only.I ordered a regular cha chan teng classic all day breakfast ($34). I ordered a regular cha chan teng classic all day breakfast ($34). Macaroni with ham and a scrambled eggs with toast. Toast wasn't the thick kind but it was buttered generously. The scrambled eggs were soft and fluffy. The macaroni was not too soft and the ham was savory and not too salty.
But then boyfriend's breakfast came and I was taken aback! Even the person sharing our table gasped in shock. He ordered a steak with scrambled eggs and toast ($40). The steak was one big piece and pretty soft though probably from some sort of meat softner. But it was fairly decent and oddly shocking to have steak for breakfast.
Food was ok but a lot better than the two more popular ones closer to the tram station area. This one is more frequented by the residents of Happy Valley. There was a queue waiting for a table when we left and that was a weekday!
