On a Monday evening, my old friend and I decided to have dinner together since we have not met each other for a while. At first, we were going to have burgers in a nearby restaurant. Unfortunately, or fortunately as it turned out to be, there were not places for us except some tiny seats around the cocktail bar. Located inside the industrial buildings with poor visibility, the restaurant was semi-hidden as if a gem waits to be discovered. Helped and guided by a helpful staff member who promotes the restaurant on the street, we walked through a few passageways and entered this hot pot spot. We talked to a hospitable waiter who was super friendly and helped us all along while we placed our ordered, as well as helping us how to steam different food for different numbers of minutes. One of the best service I have ever had in my dining experiences.
The seafood was fresh. I mean they were really fresh. The abalones and the shrimps were still alive for a long time after being placed and prepared on our table. They tasted delicious and the price was really reasonable. Among all the food, I found the meatballs of braised pork with preserved vegetable exquisite and spectacular. Each of us ate nearly ten of them and still wanted more. The congee which was cooked underneath the steamed food absorbed all the essences of the steamed ingredients. The only thing you need to perfect the taste is you should ask the waiters for some salt. A pinch of salt definitely sublimes the congee into irresistible gourmet Chinese rice soup. Although there was a fly hovering our food and it finally landed on one of the shrimps we ordered, the scene was not disruptive to our dinner. It is acceptable in Kwun Tong, isn't it?
And inexpensive dinner with all the seafood and all-you-can-eat meatballs and vegetables. Heartwarming hospitality from the staff as you enter and leave this place. Great food of high quality and freshness. It is beyond doubt that this place is worth another visit, or many visits.
