Xin Dau Ji is a typical Chinese restaurant serving Cantonese cuisine. It offers good-valued barbequed meat and wok fried dishes. Don't expect delicate food and fancy presentation, yet they are authentic and tasted good without much MSG. We ordered 12 dishes for a table of 13 persons (see below photos, 2 vegetable dishes were not shooted), and with a few bottles of beer, the bill came up to around $2500. Xin Dau Ji is a typical Chinese restaurant serving Cantonese cuisine. It offers good-valued barbequed meat and wok fried dishes. Don't expect delicate food and fancy presentation, yet they are authentic and tasted good without much MSG.

The dish that I would recommend specifically is the Fish Fillet. It was so good that it has won my heart, and I couldn't tell if my favourite Beer Battered Cod Fish from Dot Cod was better than this or not. Eateries are normally using frozen fish to do this dish. However, when fresh and good quality fish is used, it's impressing not matter done by Chinese or Western style cooking.
Big chunks of Garoupa fillet tasted very fresh and not fishy at all. The coating was light and crispy while the meat inside was juicy and smooth. I was quite amazed by the chef's skills because this deep-fried dish was not greasy. I believed that the right oil temperate and timing are crucial.
Sweetcorn sauce was served on the side. It is often spread on the fillets which will make them soggy. The thickness of this sauce was just right, and you can dip the fish meat inside before putting into your mouth. Seasoning was light salt and pepper, I think it was delicious both putting the sauce and not.

This place is famous for HK local "siu mei". We ordered half portion of Roast Suckling Pig and 1 whole Roasted Goose.
They were claimed to be made to order and the skin was quite crispy. The meat was cooked just right and was tender, while the poultry smell was diminished by proper marination and roasting. Both tasted good in general, but actually you can get something similar in small local eateries.

"Happy face" goes to the yummy Fish fillets, other dishes were average.
