Started with a fresh seafood platter of king crab, oyster, prawns and clams. Unlimited refill of Chinese and Western small plates featuring the french style duck foie gras trochon as a rich tasty western cold starter, while the traditional chinese soy sauce chicken is perfectly marinated and very delicious. The crispy prawn wonton is impeccably made served with the lovely sweet and sour sauce (slightly leaning more on the sweet side). The burrata salad and stir fried clams are negligible.
Choice of one main course for each diner. Highly recommend their signature Char Siu fried egg Japanese rice (黯然销魂饭). Their char siu is of very high quality, nicely charred and tender meat with a balanced honey glaze. Together with the fried egg and the Japanese rice is just heavenly. Just wish there’s more of the aged soy sauce to finish the rice.
Pleasantly satisfied with the Casarecce Pasta with Forest Mushrooms and Black Truffle but the US ribeye steak with fries was very average, not worth adding an extra $100 for.
Of course there’s always room for desserts. Or Noir 71.5% Chocolate Tartelette and White Cheese & Yuzu Entremet are both signature Butterfly Patisserie cake, a no-brainer choice. The yuzu cake taste refreshing and light, the yuzu fragrance is dominant with a zesty sharp finish while balanced with the white chocolate. The chocolate tart has a passionfruit and berry filling for some tartness to cut through the rich chocolate which more is needed in this overly chocolatey dessert.
The pumpkin and sago soup was incredibly thick and creamy more like a purée than soup actually, enjoyed the natural sweet pumpkin, but could definitely add more sago.
As a restaurant in a 5-star hotel, their food portion are considered very generous in every course. The service felt a bit pushy, and was quite disappointed at the staff who took away the condiments when I still haven’t finished the seafood. But all in all, still an awesome brunch deal perfect for family get together.
