My day ended with contentment with dinner at Cobalt, a new restaurant in Tai Kok Tsui. With a simple design, Cobalt features blue colour and displays a huge screen for relaxing scenery. It mainly serves European cuisine and also offers Asian dishes. Apologies for the bad pictures since I am not good at taking pictures under blue light. Will be glad for any advice from readers. The Christmas and New Year Menu offers dinner set at around $300-500/ set. My friend and I shared a set and risotto. H

Salad: Tuscan tuna salad
Appetizer: Cobalt crab cakes
What a satisfying appetizer. The crab cakes are filled with crab meats and I love that it is paired with juicy asparagus for balance.
Soup: pumpkin ginger soup
I love that the sweet pumpkin and spicy ginger complement each other well without taking over.
Main course:
Pan-seared scallops with lime avocado and crispy rice paper ($298 for the set)
I am amazed by the freshness of the dish, mainly due to the lime sauce. Also amazed by the pleasing mildness of the rice paper, crispy but not heaty. My body reacts quite aggressively to ‘heaty’ foods, so I am glad that I find something crispy but not that hearty. The scallop is of 3L size, a big one.
Crab meat risotto with sea urchin cream sauce ($152)
The best part is the integration of sweet and briny sea urchin and rich cream.
Dessert: Strawberry sponge cake, hojitcha ice cream, a piece of melon
Drinks: a glass of sparkling wine
As said, it doubles the taste when paired with alcoholic beverages.
Overall, very happy stomachs!
