Not to judge by looks - its location, its neighbours and its decor would not have given away the fact that it's a gem indeed.Taking a look at its menu, first thought came to mind was they overcharge, big time. Nothing costs under a hundred bucks here except for the bread, that costs a whooping $70 odd dollars! Holy moly, bread made with gold flour they serve?! Most of their courses are charged in the mid - high 200 range. A soup will cost you close to 200. Main course rib eye even almost hits 60

Red prawns at market price. My god! For a split second I thought I was eating at a six star hotel restaurant in Central!
Wine menu is extensive with quite a big common selection.
One of the four of us ordered a tasting menu with pairing wines. The rest of us respectively ordered mushroom soup, watercress with scallop soup, duck liver terrine (they are pretty accommodative in making this tasting menu item a regular portion for us), Spanish (not sure why they serve Spanish stuff in an Italian restro?) red prawns linguine, spaghetti with 24-mth Parmesan and black truffle paste and slow cooked chicken.
We were taken aback when the dishes started arriving. The portions are humungous, understanding only then why they charge so much. With the exception of the chicken (the menu does not clearly say so we thought we would get a whole chicken for $308), the portion they serve here could literally feed a cow - take a look from the photos - it's definitely more an American portion than Italian. I'd personally rather they charge less and give me the common Italian portion.
Nonetheless, food quality is really good. Apparently they make their own from bread to linguine, so considering the range of items, it's pretty impressive how they uphold their quality. The number one highlight of the night was definitely the giant Spanish (?) red prawns on linguine, followed by the 24-mth Parmesan spaghetti they cooked live at the front of house. The 3 pieces of slow cooked chicken breast and leg were well executed that yield tenderness and juiciness. I would give the rest of the food an above average rating too.
