Had already tried a lot of sushi lunch sets at some top-notch local places, and my latest food adventure took me to this small joint at Wanchai. Place is pretty small (only 30 seats at most) and is so packed during lunch hour on weekdays that it is almost impossible to get secure a place without booking (be prepared to share tables with other patrons). Decor is typical Japanese, with special menu items posted on the wall (again written in Japanese). With just a limited number of items to choose

With just a limited number of items to choose from, I just ordered the sushi lunch set, which came with miso soup and salad (just the usual stuff, nothing too special), some cooked vegetables (ok) and the set itself, consisting of 7 pieces of sushi and some rolls. The sushi were quite fresh, but they were mostly "ordinary" items that you would expect, like salmon, tuna, shrimp, scallop, salmon roe etc; by far the best was the salmon roe sushi, which was quite tasty. The orange that served as dessert was sweet and nice. Service was just so-so; all the waitors were kept busy and no one bothered to refill my cup of tea throughout the entire lunch period. Overall not a bad lunch, but hardly what you would call outstanding or memorable. Maybe I was just expecting a bit too much; but if one is prepared to pay slightly higher prices, I am sure one could get far better quality elsewhere either in CWB or TST.
