Tai Pai Tong - with no doubt is an important part of HK local culture. Who hasn't been to a non-AC, loud, friendly food stalls with super delicious food at a very low price? I still love to visit Tai Pai Tong with big crowds, nothing can beat the ambience.But what if I tell you that there is a Tai Pai Tong (TPT) at CWB that is air-conditioned which also serves good western food at reasonable price? I was lucky enough to have my friend bringing me here - Tai Pai Tong Hong Kong @ Jardine's Bazaar.

But what if I tell you that there is a Tai Pai Tong (TPT) at CWB that is air-conditioned which also serves good western food at reasonable price? I was lucky enough to have my friend bringing me here - Tai Pai Tong Hong Kong @ Jardine's Bazaar.

This place is nothing like ordinary street style TPT, it is nothing uncomfortably upscale-like, but it is a cosy and quiet restaurant that is perfect for couples and small group gatherings.

They have a set dinner for two for $799, which included a seafood platter, 3 starters, 2 main courses, 2 dessert of the day, plus 2 glasses of wine. This is such a sweet deal so we ordered ourself one.

The seafood platter was of good size and had a splendid variety of fresh seafood.The oysters were meaty with fresh flavor of sea minerals. The abalones were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The
cooked prawns, japanese scallops and razor clam sashimi were very fresh and had a tint of sweetness.

The mushroom & black truffle soup - blending fresh chunks of mushrooms with a light dash of cream and drizzled with truffle oil. The chunky soup was very hearty and I liked it not too creamy.
Ox Tongue. Wasabi and honey sauce

Ox tongue - my first impression, So Thick! I never like thick-cut ox tongue, so to me this dish was a bit like SPAM - very meaty. It was just my personal preference, because my friend loved this dish.

As for main, I had the Seabass Incense of lemon. It was a sensational combination of flavors. The richness of panfried seabass combined with refreshing lemon sauce made the dish felt quite light (especially
after a massive load of yummy appetizers lol). This was served with butter corn on cob and a small side green. The flavors of the whole dish went nicely together.
Blueberry cheesecake

Finally for dessert, we had blueberry cheesecake. Light creamcheese with swirls of fresh blueberry sauce, the cake wasn't heavy at all hence served as a very nice ending for the dinner.

It was a very fulfilling dinner with great value, just how a Tai Pai Tong should be.

I'd definitely come back again to check out A La Carte menu!
