This area of Tai Po is known to have many bars on par with TST knutsford terrace's standards, so we decided to venture out and a nearby bar and restaurant and we were very happy that we found NOC NOC! The location is very resident friendly, and only a short 10 minute walk from tai po center, which makes it the perfect place for an after dinner chill drinking area. The interior of the restaurant was very atmospheric, and there were quite a few tables of friends and couples who were chill drinking
The interior of the restaurant was very atmospheric, and there were quite a few tables of friends and couples who were chill drinking and chatting. The toilets were also very spacious and clean, which came as a surprise as I expected a bar/restaurant toilet to be quite small. It was well up-kept, and the service was also great.
We ordered 2 dishes to share between us: Roasted Barbecue Pork Ribs and Margherita Pizza with Parma Ham & Rocket.
1. Margherita Pizza with Parma Ham & Rocket ($148)
This was our favourite of the two! For this price, the ingredients tasted very fresh and of high quality. The pizza was good for sharing size for 2 people. The crust was thin and crunchy, and did not taste very doughy and texturally complimented the toppings. The parma ham and cheese were flavourful, and when paired with the plethora of rocket lettuce, the entire pizza felt fresh to the taste and did not feel greasy at all. Only downside was that the parma ham slices were a bit too large, which made it hard to bite through at times. Nonetheless, this was a great pizza made with high quality ingrediants!
2. Roasted Barbecue Pork Ribs ($168)
This contained ~half rack of ribs, with a total of 8 ribs. Unlike conventional ribs, this had an interesting tomato paste sauce which was something we did not expect as we were more used to seeing BBQ sauce for ribs. To our surprise, the combination actually tasted quite refreshing and did not leave you feeling thirsty and stripped of fluids after eating it. The meat was quite adhered to the ribs and did not peel off easily, though it was still tasty nonetheless. The fries were great and complimented well.
Overall, great place to dine and drink with friends! Would recommend for Tai Po/Tai Wo friends just looking for a chill place to catch up at!
