Temple Street has gotten a lot more quieter now that there are not as many tourists. Boyfriend and I wandered there and found it eerily quiet. But perhaps due to the lack of crowds, we noticed a small street food place.Menu is in English and Chinese. They sold various items that can be made on a sizzling hot plate along with tamagoyaki and okonomiyaki. Interesting! They also served food grilled on a hot grill plate. You get two sizes: small for $40 or large for $70. The small size you can choose

Everything is cooked in front of you.
And they had egg pans in the back.
I wanted a tamagoyaki so we ordered one lava cheese tamagoyaki ($30). Toppings are $10 each so we choose with mentaiko. The egg was soft and fluffy. Quite large in size as well. It was topped with a popping fish roe and bonito flakes.
Inside was crabsticks and bits of mentaiko along with lots of stretchy cheese.
We also shared a small bo of squid tentacles and chicken cartilage ($40). They sprinkled the pepper flakes generously. This definitely needed a drink. It was spicy in a numbing way. Well seasoned. The tentacles were juicy yet firm. The chicken cartilage was crunchy. Boyfriend took it home later to finish it off with a cold beer and wow ... it got even spicier as the spices and oil marinated it further. This is worth coming back for.
Service was friendly. Food was fast and hot. You can take away the food but they do have plastic chairs available for you if you want to sit down and eat. And maybe grab a beer from down the street.
