Ikea .... the Swedish furniture store  is found around the world now has a branch in Tsim Sha Tsui. Unlike their other stores that are massive in size, this one is small. Offering  mostly accessories and of course, their popular bistro area where they offer quick items to eat. All while standing.

This bistro in particular is very tiny. Ordering is done by a touch screen display. You can't go up to a person to order. Everything is cashless as well. Menu is in English and Chinese and there is no 10% service charge just like all their other restaurants. After you order, take you ticket and pick up your food. There is a tiny (and I mean tiny) eating area but it's under the stairs near the MTR exit with lack of air conditioning. This really forces one to eat fast and leave.

The bistro has always been popular but this one in particular offers three items not found in their other bistros. Like everyone else, we decided to fight the crowds and try them out.

This is only found at this branch. The Shark Bun ($8) and the Blue and Yellow Sundae ($13). The shark bun is a steamed bao filled with sweet potato paste. It was not too warm and wasn't too good. It looked cute but the dough was a bit hard and though there was a lot of filling. The Blue and Yellow Sundae was advertised with a blue and yellow macaron. We didn't get this. Was it sold out? Unsure but we weren't given an explanation. The yellow softserve tasted like mango and the blue was ramune flavour though boyfriend felt it tasted like cough syrup.

The Ikea Horse Shrimp Cake ($19) was an item we didn't see in other bistros so we got this as well. I think it's also an exclusive here. You get two and I liked it more than boyfriend.  The coating was crispy and the shrimp filling had a decent amount of shrimp taste. And they were shaped like horses. How cute is that?

The food here was like any other Ikea bistro. Not great but at least not expensive. The exclusive items were cute but doubt I'd be back to eat it again.
