the best thing here...an avocado brownie?!

As an avid avocado fan, I can't actually believe that it's taken me so long to visit the Avobar! I wanted try things other than avo on toast so I came on a weekday night. The menu selection isn't too bad, there's enough avo toast/brunch options and a good selection of other dishes for dinner. Green Machine $58To start, I wanted to try some of the drinks.  To start, I wanted to try some of the drinks. Even though this was green, it didn't have any avocado in it lol, I just really wanted to try it. This green juice features pineapple, cucumber, kale, celery, lemon and ginger. I quite liked it! It didn't have that gnarly green juice taste so it was quite enjoyable.

 This smoothie features almond milk, banana, avocado, cacao, I really liked it! Not too sweet and great cacao flavour, you can't taste the avo at all if you're worried about that. It was quite thick though and could be a meal on its own

 I was recommended to try this dish, and it didn't disappoint! At the bottom was a creamy mushroom risotto with truffle oil, on top was a marinated grilled black cod, and finished off with avocado foam. The risotto itself could've used a touch of salt, but was yummy together with the fish, which was super flavourful. The avo foam didn't really add much to the dish though, it didn't really taste like much.

 We were really surprised when this came -- totally didn't expect the bun to actually be the 'bun' (despite the name haha). The menu says that this is their signature dish, I'm glad to see that this was a plant-based option because their menu doesn't have too many veg options. Inside was a sweet potato and lentil patty, with sliced vegetables and what I assume is vegan mayo. The vegan slaw on the side was really good too -- we liked it just as much as the burger!

 I really liked these, and thought it was presented in such a fun way! The best part was the wasabi mayo -- we thought it was really unique and  went really well with the sweet potatoes. I thought the potatoes could've been cooked a bit more (a bit softer?) though.

 Our favourite dish of the night! The brownie was densely chocolatey, not too sweet and had avo chunks through it, finished with maple syrup and turmeric powder. Despite it sounding quite 'healthy' it definitely didn't taste that way. This is one dense and filling brownie, I'd recommend you share it.

Overall, a great dining experience, I would love to go try the brunch options next time. Food isn't too bad, I think they could expand their vegetarian offerings though!
