Bread, Bread, Bread!Checked this place out with my lovely cousin on a friday night, but we didn't have to wait or anything probably because we went early. The staff apologized to us because the only table that wasn't booked was the one by the entrance. Even though we sat by the entrance, we felt like we had enough privacy, which was nice. There were surprisingly a lot of families in there. Also, the restaurant looked clean and had a nice vibe. A plus for the environment. The pasta looked good

The pasta looked good, the risotto looked good and the croissant burger seemed interesting. That's why it took us some time to decide on what to order haha Finally, we decided to share 1 set dinner and one salad so that we could try more items on the menu.
Like many restaurants, of course a complimentary bread basket was served since Eric Kayser is known for his bread! Oh my, the touch of the bread was warm and soft. You knew it was gonna be good stuff before even tasting it. All were good but the turmeric bread was especially delicious. Turmeric is a spice that has gained popularity recently for its health benefits although people have been using it for this purpose for a long time. Besides adding colour to food, experts claim that turmeric can treat arthritis and prevent cancer so why wouldn't you want to have it more! When I cook with this spice,I find it can be overpowering alone or if overused, but it worked really well in the bread so it became my favourite that night. After tackling the bread, the manager asked us if we wanted more, but for the sake of our wasitlines we declined ,even though we really really wanted more! haha
We chose scallops for our appetizer! The scallops were fresh and were cooked perfectly. The spinach purée underneath complimented the scallops really well. It was a good dish overall but overseasoned as it was a little salty.
Althougexpensively the pricey side, I would defintely go to Maison Eric Kayser again. The service was good and their bread is amazing! I had a sample of their bread next door before, but it was dry and disgusting (it had probably been sitting) and thought that the place was overated, but after dining here, I think everyone should give it a try.
