My neighborhood is really not that big. But it oddly has everything that I need within walking distance. However, recently, there are have been a number of interesting new eateries that have opened. I've tried two of them so far and will continue to go through the rest as time goes on. It's been a long time something that opened here have peaked my interest.One such shop is called Proof. One such shop is called Proof. It's actually a bakery, thus the name Proof as in the one step in the breadmaking process. A very small shop, it's located in a side street across from the Happy Valley police station.
They have a small little sign of what they are baking that day. The best part is you can smell the glorious scent of fresh baked bread because inside it's just a kitchen where the staff bake away. There isn't a display of bread like other places. But you can see them resting near the ovens.
Menu is in English only. Staff do speak English and Chinese. They also offer coffee and tea. As they don't have the bread on display other than what's written on the sign, I suggest you ask them what they have available. When I was there, they had just taken out a fresh batch of cinnamon buns and that's what I got!Took it back for breakfast. The cinnamon bun was not as fluffy as I would have liked (I prefer mine super fluffy and soft) but it was full of cinnamon and sugar. The bread was delicious. The only thing that would make this even more perfect is if they added raisons and lots of it!
A great little bakery right in my neighborhood! Staff was friendly and very neighborly. Exactly what is needed in a small community. I will be back to buy more bread!
