This place is called Kimchee, so you would expect it to serve Korean food. Was still hopeful for my main course 'Stone Pot Bibimbap', literally cooked rice and some basic toppings, it's really hard to get wrong. When it arrives, for some genius reason instead of some delightful Gochujan paste to mix into the Bibimbap, the restaurant in all their wisdom decide that the dish should be accompanied by Thai Sweet Chilli......you can call me a snob or whatever but that is an abomination. Politely asked the waitress to give me some gochujan (Korean Red Chili paste), first she tells me I already have it (lie/mistake/stupidity...call it what you want) but she relents and goes to get me some. However, what arrived can only be described as a piss poor watered down imitation of a siracha sauce.
How can a "Korean" restaurant not have gochujan, Korea literally runs on Kimchee, Gochujan and Soju. I tried to just let it go but broke and had to run down to the supermarket downstairs to buy some gochujan.
Never will I make the same mistake again and step foot into this sorry place.
(I created an Open Rice account especially to comment on this restaurant)
