Wow, we frequent Sai Kung quite a bit and ever since Le Bonbon opened we've been trying to have lunch there. On previous visits, we did not want to wait as there were generally quite a line. However, on our third try this Sunday we were lucky enough to snap a table right away, maybe it was the humid weather that Le Bonbon was less busy. The place is tiny, seats about 15-20 max, and it's mostly outdoor seating, definately not comfortable, but heck we came here for the food anyway, and this time

Here go, we order everthing all at once because we were hungry, so the food and drinks arrived in no particular order. Great that the Coffee and Raspberries Shake came first. The Coffee was all right, really wanted to sample the Shake first, we were hot and thirsty. Yum..... the Shake was cool and smooth with a lot of Raspberries flavor, sweet and delicious.
Ah, next came the pastas, first, the Beetroot Pasta with Creamy Chicken. The Beetroot Pasta lacked the sweet Beetroot flavor and was somewhat on the soft side, we prefer al dente, and the Creamy Chicken sauce would have been average if not for the Sun-Dried Tomatoes added which was very tasty. The Gnocchi arrived next and it looked average, but once you mix all the ingredients (Bacon & Cherry Tomatoes) that was buried on the bottom, ah.... the flavor arises. Long time since we had Gnocchi, this version was very pleasing and very flling due to the heavy cream sauce.
Overall, just a really nice place to sit down and have a quick bite. Definately come back and try their other shake flavors. However, we are somewhat confused as to why the restaurant is called "Le Bonbon de Paris", almost everthing on the menu leaned toward Italian more, so what, as long as the food is good and service with a smile.
