I randomly walked in and decided to have brunch on a Sunday. The entrance and seating looked interesting. Menu looked standard, so we ordered a couple of lattes, bagel with salmon and eggs benedict. After fiddling around for 15 minutes, the waitress brought the lattes over and asked if we needed a stirrer for the sugar. I asked her if she expected me to stir the sugar with my finger? She clearly didnt understand and brought one over. I assumed it was her first day on the job so over looked that a
After fiddling around for 15 minutes, the waitress brought the lattes over and asked if we needed a stirrer for the sugar. I asked her if she expected me to stir the sugar with my finger? She clearly didnt understand and brought one over. I assumed it was her first day on the job so over looked that as ignorance.
Another 15 minutes later my bagel with salmon arrived. Now, a bagel with salmon and cream cheese takes 3 minutes to make including toasting. Why this took over 20 minutes was beyond me and it arrived without being toasted. Bagel was hard and not easy to eat. The lettuce they put on the plate looked like it had been pulled from the trash. Not appetizing.
I was expecting both dishes to come at the same time, but assumed the second was close behind. After another 10-15 minutes, I was ready to chew my arm off. At this point I had finished my bagel and my fellow diner had yet to receive hers.
Finally, the eggs benedict arrived. Whoever created the egg benedict must have been rolling in their grave. This pity of a concoction came out and looked nothing like its namesake. It would have been better called random stuff on toast with melted cheese all over it.
The eggs benedict was on a piece of toast, not a muffin, and the there was no ham to be seen. When asked, they told us that they simply ran out. It would have been proper to tell us that at the beginning, so we could make some alternate choices. None of this happened and I asked them to cancel our order and take it off the bill.
We quickly settled up for the lattes and left. Other patrons sitting close by had similar experiences and all the staff could offer up was that they were short handed.
This place seemed like a grade school business experiment where a bunch of kids were trying to run a business. Amateur hour. Don't bother, keep on walking.
To salvage this experience, we walked over to Green Waffle Diner and had a delicious eggs benedict and waffles. Go there instead.
