I really really liked my two meals here - The first time I had their xiao long bao, which were so juicy and the skins very thin (almost too thin though, too delicate but better than being too thick!). I also had their 'thousand layer pork with preserved vegetables', which was DIVINE. The soft fatty 'five layer fat pork' was sliced into paper thin pieces and layered over one another on a bed of preserved vegetables. I could not eat enough... it was so good. Also had their minced pork and mushroom
Also had their minced pork and mushroom la mian (炸酱拉面) which was tasty and came with a very fragrant chicken broth (I have slight suspicions the broth might have a touch of MSG though, but I could be wrong).
Came back the other day and had their tea set, which was good value for money (around $28~ for a noodle and soy milk, though xiao long baos you will still have to order a la carte!), again had the 炸酱拉面with soy milk, and an order of xiao long bao, plus an order of pan-fried dumplings.
Too bad this time the chefs had placed two dumplings too close together, both skins tore when we tried to separate them. Nevertheless it was still delicious. The panfried dumplings were EXCEPTIONAL - extremely juicy and the meat very well seasoned, and the dumpling itself nice and crisp on the bottom, nice and chewy on the top. Am drooling thinking about it.
Service was very cheery and food was superb. Will be recommending this place to anyone.
