Yum Asian is a somewhat confused Asian restaurant serving a variety of Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes at a prime Lyndhurt Terrace location. We had a Two person Thai set ($168) which included soup, 2 appetizers, curry, vegetable, rice, dessert and drinks. It was well-priced but the food was only average. The Tom Yum Soup was tasty, although a bit spicier than the HK standard. The boneless chicken feet and sugarcane prawn appetizers were uninteresting. The green curry chicken was good, but much sweeter than I’d ever had. The stir-fried morning glory with shrimp paste was the highlight, with just enough spiciness without being overwhelming.
We also got a Pad Thai, which was pretty poorly done. The noodles were rubbery, there were only a few pieces of chicken and it almost tasteless. I’ve made better Pad Thai myself using a kit from the supermarket!
Verdict: For when you’re looking for a cheap meal for a large group but don’t care too much about the taste.
