This is the worst japanese restaurant I have ever been to! I was so with the experience, I have filled in the feed back form at the restaurant where all items are "unsatisfactory".I ordered Sashimi-Sushi Lunch set, which includes miso soup, salad, appetizer.The main dish Sashimi-sushi arrived on my table first. I ordered Sashimi-Sushi Lunch set, which includes miso soup, salad, appetizer.
The main dish Sashimi-sushi arrived on my table first. Where are the soup and appetizer? Shouldn't they come in before the main? I asked the waiter, but he just ignored. Not to mention the same waiter, whom have taken my order, give me the feeling that he is on drugs or something - unfocused, doesn't acknowledge your order or requests - felt like I was speaking to a zombie. They are definitely under-staffed, and seeing a time-stamp system (near the cashier) for the employees, I can tell it is a CHEAP-ASS boss running this business, and therefore under-staffed. Enough of the bad service, back to the food ....
The Sashimi-Sushi set:
- scallop sashimi - even from the color, you can tell it has been laid out for a long time - therefore unfresh
- tuna sashimi - tuna has a special traits where the service color tells immediately if it is handled professionally (not to mention freshness) - the tuna surface has absurdly abundant amount of "rainbow" colors, meaning (1) very unfresh (also from the dull and brownish color) and (2) handled improperly (i.e. dirty knife / hand).
- salmon sashimi - this is the only category that they pass
- most sushi looks dry and unfress: shirmp, crabstick, squid - looks like they have been laid out for at least 1 day before serving to customer - i.e. the edges of the shirmp/crabstick/squid is dry and curled up. Again, the salmon sushi passes.
After I almost finished my main course, the soup and seaweed appetizer arrived (10 mins after main dish arrived). The soup, first sip is ABSOLUTELY COLD . The seaweed appetizer like most of their other food, looks like it had been laid out uncovered for 1 day minimum, it is totally dried (wrost than the sashimis), I didn't dare touching it as I worry it will cause me food poisoning.
15 mins later, the salad came. This is the only dish out of everything that actually LOOKED decent. But taste-wise, it is tasteless!! And Salad that should have came first ends up coming 15 mins after the main course? How stupid and unprofessional is that?
The overall experience was ABSOLUTELY UNSATISFACTORY.
The lunch meal cost $69, I paid $100, and they only returned $30 --- this expect me to pay $1 for tip for sure without asking??? $1 is nothing, but with such bad service and bad food, I wouldn't even pay $0.1 extra. The meal, its quality, does not even worst $20; a pack of sushi $60 from Park n Shop or Welcome is better quality than what 金水 can provide.
Don't waste your $, don't visit 金水.
