Came here for dinner after boyfriend had come from a hike and he just wanted something quick and fast. We walked by a Maxim's fast food and decided to eat here. This Maxim's is one of the newly renovated ones where it looks more like a cafe than your usual fast food restaurant. This one is called MX2 because it's linked to Starbucks which is next door.Sausage and Pork Chop Set ($65). This included a huge German sausage, pork chop in black pepper sauce and potatoes, mango pudding, seafood chowder
Sausage and Pork Chop Set ($65). This included a huge German sausage, pork chop in black pepper sauce and potatoes, mango pudding, seafood chowder with a puff pastry topping and a dinner bun. Quite a bit of food for a decent price! The seafood chowder was a bit too salty for my liking. But everything was fairly good. Sausage was crisp. The pork chop was a bit dry.
Hainan Chicken and Char Siu Rice with Soup Set ($45). Chicken was moist and bones were removed. The char siu was not too fat and not dry. It came with Chinese soup which was a ok.
The food was fine but ordering was a bit more confusing. After you pay, you don't get a pager like the other more modern MX fast food restaurants. You don't even get called by number. Instead they just shout out what you ordered. This caused confusion most of the time as a few people ordered hainan chicken and char siu rice and several people walked up. The staff just then passed it to whoever came first, leaving other people standing confused. I don't know why there was no number system. Was this normal or was it broken that day? Whatever the case, it was truely a fast food experience as you sat down, ate and left as fast as you could.
