8 of us went to this restaurant for dinner. It was supposed to be a simple family dinner to celebrate the birthday of a family member. After seeing all the reviews, we thought this restaurant would be reasonably priced and of ok-quality. We booked for a table (not a room) and ordered some sushi, and something simple...nothing very fancy. After seeing all the reviews, we thought this restaurant would be reasonably priced and of ok-quality. We booked for a table (not a room) and ordered some sushi, and something simple...nothing very fancy. The waitress recommended some sashimi dishes and we did not ask for the price for every single one as we thought the sushi was only around HKD300+ and the others should be alright. When we asked for the bill, we all nearly pass-out as it was around 800+ per head.
Upon checking the bill, all the recommended sashimi were just signficantly overpriced! With the same price, we would have got to Nishimura or other equally reputable JPN restaurant. Even the "calm in japanese sake"....it was priced HKD60 per piece...and with 8 ppl, it was already 500HKD! The problem was that the price was never communicated during the ordering time and we thought it would come in a claypot with many pieces as in most of the japanese restaurants.
All in all, with the ambience and price we paid, it's a very disappointing experience. Remeber to check the price of all recommended dishes, esp. when it's not listed in the menu! You may have a heart-attack upon getting the bill!
