Very good Poffertjes & fries

Found this place on openrice. Booked a table a few days ago to give it a try for lunch. It took us a while to locate this place as it was indeed a bit far.At a cost of $218 + 10%, you can enjoy an appetizer buffet with one main course and a regular coffee/tea. The appetizer buffet offered a selection of appetizers, cold cuts, salads, antipasti, condiments, dressings, dips and breads. Salads were average. I basically took some of each type of the salads offered on the table except for the greens,

 Salads were average. I basically took some of each type of the salads offered on the table except for the greens, like cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkins, beetroots, mushrooms, eggplants, tomatoes, corn etc. There were two types of fruits, water melons and oranges.

Cold cuts and antipasti

 The cold cuts were better. There were quite a few types, including spicy salami, salami, ham, grilled pork slices, chicken slices and parma ham. The parma ham was quite good while the grilled pork slices were surprisingly tender! The deep-fried beef ball on the top left-hand corner of the photo was quite tasty as it was crispy despite not having much beef inside. The small tart on the right side had nothing special.

There were definitely enough appetizers to fill you stomach. I didn't try the bread nor dressings/condiments. 

The servers did ask whether it was ok to serve our mains before they brought them to us.

Classic Steak Tartare, toasted Focaccia, Pickles/Gherkins

 This steak tartare was quite disappointing as I found it too dry and insufficient flavour of beef. The toasted Focaccia was very crispy but again was too dry for me to finish. The pickles/gherkins were ok.

Steak Frites (Grilled Grass Fed Rib Eye Steak, Fries, Green Pepper Corn Sauce)

 The steak frites were much better, especially the fries. The fries were thick cut and freshly deep fried which were really the highlight of the meal! The steak itself was ok. I couldn't taste much green pepper corn in the sauce.

Hot lemon water & iced lemon tea

 A regular coffee/tea was included in the lunch set. There was really nothing special to talk about.

 Although we were quite full, this dessert looked so appealing that I really wanted to try. So we topped up by $30+10%. Indeed it didn't disappoint us. The pancakes were hot and they went super great with the yummy and thick vanilla ice cream. I must say it was one of my favourite desserts! 

Service was quite attentive. However, they didn't follow up with my request of preparing a chocolate plate for celebration when I made the booking. Given the many choices in the same area and the price of food, I think I would try other places instead of coming back next time despite the overall positive experience.
