My restaurant week booking is scheduled on 27 Aug 2023 and was contacted by Ada Leung, a representative from the restaurant on 22 Aug 2023, informing they are going to cancel my booking due to a private bookout. I found it very disrespectful because I have dated my family for a birthday celebration and now get cancelled because of a private bookout. There is no make-up arrangement from the restaurant. I told Ada the restaurant should not join the restaurant week if they accept private bookings during that period or vice versa.
Ada explained they will accept larger bookings at any time and inform the rest with adequate notice (5 days in my case) of the cancellations and even a hotel restaurant joining restaurant Week or at any time may take a wedding party booking or a big 80th birthday as long as they notify as soon as they can.
The booking experience was genuinely disappointing and negative. Please be sure of your booking is “big” enough so the restaurant will not cancel yours🤯
