My wife and I visited Mellow Brown yesterday and ordered their so-called waffle pancake with coffee soft serve ice cream. When the pancake arrived, it looked appetising. However, when we started eating the pancake, we both noticed that it had a very weird texture - not in any way fluffy, more like loose wet cardboard. We complained to the staff, who initially said that the pancake looked normal to her and that was the regular pancake. She actually called it a soufflé pancake, which was completely the opposite texture of what we were experiencing. She did offer us another pancake, but given the long 20 to 30 minute wait that we had for the first pancake, we declined. (The staff did warn us to expect a 20 minute wait for the pancake.)
We both found the pancake very unpleasant and not particularly tasty or enjoyable to eat. We did like the ice cream and the coffees we'd ordered. But I don't think we would return to try the pancake again. Especially because we had to queue for an hour to get the table in the first place!
