I have been buying baked goods at this bakery since opened, witnessing becoming famous with queues all the time. Indeed, they sell unique homemade bakeries with quality. Lately, it's been difficult to purchase bagels, one of my favourite bread from this bakery, either sold out or unavailable. One time I even went to the bakery asking for their baking time. However, it came out an awful experience. I went in and asked an unfamiliar staff that what is the approximate time the bagels will be out. She looked at me with eyes opened saying I have no idea what is bagel. I described the round bread with a hole in and you guys sell plain, blueberries, cranberries and cheese flavour. She rolled her eyes and said those are called 比高包instead. I was like okay, maybe she just doesn't understand or some kind of communication problem. I asked again politely when will they bake out. She said they won't be out today and maybe check out tomorrow. I asked again what time roughly. She said she'll never know just come and check. Honestly, it was quite shocking to me that an unfamiliar staff respond like that.
I visited the next day checking out both bagels and the portugese egg tart (both the pastry and cookie crust ones). I was looking for the bagel label among all the goods, seeing the label of bagel written as 贝果, not even 比高包. I was immediately pissed recalling what happened the day before. Unfortunately the bagels again all sold out leaving with the labels there. Anyway, I asked again if there are any portugese egg tarts and what time will they bake out. That staff asked loudly 咩葡挞？我地呢到冇呢样嘢. I described politely that they are similar to egg tart and you guys sell two types, one pastry based and one cookie based. She again rolled eyes saying 我地卖只有布丁挞。个d叫布丁挞。不定时出。有就有冇就冇。I literally just left the bakery. To be honest after these two experiences, I don't think I will go this bakery any time soon, only if I see that staff isn't here. Her attitude is a bit annoying.
Thankfully, she wasn't here today when I passed by. I immediately went in and bought two bagels (cheese and blueberries) and pollock roe baguette. In spite of bagels look 1/3 smaller than the past so as shorter pollock roe baguette. I have been longing these for weeks!
Both heads of the baguette were slight tough, but middle part was still crunchy with generous amount of roe. It will be nicer to warm it up.
Bagels were definitely smaller than before, but still tasted same. One was filled with blueberries with one side stuffed with cream cheese. One was topped with crispy cheese with melted gooey cheese inside. Both were very satisfying
