Sheraton Unkai, located at Sheraton Hotel, is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong. As I was craving for some good sashimi don on a hot summer day, I decided to be spontaneous and asked the waiter if they served minced fatty tuna with spring onion don, which was not on the menu. Very politely, the waiter said “No Problem!” - I was ecstatic, looking forward to the meal.
After the first bite, I could not help but said it out loud – “I’m finishing everything!” I was not joking – it was THAT good! The minced fatty tuna was extremely fresh and minced really well, and also combined with adequate amount of spring onions to add flavor to the freshness of the fatty tuna. The minced fatty tuna was placed on top of some warm and chewy Japanese rice. – a wonderful combination. There was also enough fatty tuna for every spoon of rice.Minced fatty tuna with spring onion don is my favorite sashimi don and I have tried it at many Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong. I recently also had it at Kenjo, it was fresh but the rice was too hot so it slightly cook the mince fatty tuna.
Writing this review makes me crave for the sashimi don!
