It appears Comebuy has upped the bubble tea game. From Taiwan, this bubble tea chain has a few stores in Hong Kong. But it's Yuen Long branch is something all it's own. Think Starbucks Reserve and this is exactly what you're getting here.Comebuytea is located inside Yoho Mall. Comebuytea is located inside Yoho Mall. It's a take away only stand but it's quite large as it displays all it's beautiful tea leaves where they say they will grind them upon order. There is also a machine that makes your tea with steam like action.
This is what the machine looks like upclose. It's called a Teapresso. Much like an espresso machine, this machine is created by the company KLUB, a company from Taiwan. The machine will extract the tea leaves in a standardized process much like an espresso machine. It is clearly a thing of beauty.
What happens is once you order your tea, they will grind your tea leaves, add it to the machine where a standardized shot water will extract the tea from the leaves and give you the perfect cup. A shot of hot steam will appear at the top of the machine. After, they will add milk or any other flavors that you requested.
In an effort to create a Starbucks like experience, they even have a gift area to buy tea related products.
Enough of the mumble. What about the tea? Menu is in English and Chinese. You can choose to create your own tea combinations or you can just order a straight tea from their higher end leaves to truly taste the perfection.
I ordered a green tea and pineapple juice ($28) with aloe ($5). The size was quite large and it wasn't packed with ice, too! The tea was excellent. It was a lot stronger in taste than the usual Comebuy line. It was balanced with pineapple juice. Just enough to not overpower the tea but enough to let you know it was added. Pretty good.
A bit far from where I live but if I'm in the area, I'll be sure to grab a drink from here. Hopefully they branch out and open somewhere closer.
