Purchasing tea leaves through tea shops.  英记茶庄 (English name: Ying Kee Tea House) is one of them. With over 130 years in the business, they finally decided to follow the next generation of tea drinkers. And that is in the form of 爱茶 (English name: iTea). A shop selling, yes, you guessed it ... bubble tea, cheese tea, fruit tea and nitro tea.

Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, I was curious. They know a lot about teas but what about what is trendy and hip?

The shop is quite big for a take away only shop. They even sell Ying Kee tea leaves here as well.

I decide to get this: Fruit Tea Oolong ($50). It only comes in a large size. It is a whopping expensive price for a tea drink as compared to other places on the street, but then Ying Kee tea leaves actually costs a lot more than the regular tea houses. If you are expecting a sugary sweet drink, this place is definitely not for you. But if you want the true taste of tea .. this is it. There was absolutely not ice added but the drink was still cold and refreshing. The tea was strong and fragrant. You truly taste the pure tea flavor.

It was also packed with fruit. There was so much fruit, honestly, there wasn't a lot of tea to drink. But the fruit was abundant. I found watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, kiwi, grapes, calamasi and grapefruit. All were fresh with huge sweet nod to the strawberries and grapes. I've never had a fruit tea in Hong Kong with this much fruit. Glad they do provide a fork to eat it all.

A bit expensive than the competitors but definitely worth the price if you just want pure tea. Definitely come again to try out a cold brew next time or nitro brew. That sounds interesting as well.
