Whilst being fully aware that I am writing this review for an establishment which essentially warms up pre-cooked food, I feel compelled to inform everyone of the fundamentally flawed service that I have come to expect from M&S Cafe at Taikoo, City Plaza.I have visited twice this week. Once on a quiet weeknight and once on a busy weekend. On the quiet weeknight there were two staff behind the food counter, and no one on the cafe floor. I have visited twice this week. Once on a quiet weeknight and once on a busy weekend. On the quiet weeknight there were two staff behind the food counter, and no one on the cafe floor. There were tables that needed cleaning which had no one occupying them. I sat at one of these tables yet, still, no one came to clean. When my food arrived the waitress put the plate down onto a filthy table without cleaning it first; I actually had to ask her to clean.
Today I went mid-afternoon for lunch with my girlfriend. We ordered a couple of meals, and picked up our own cutlery as instructed. Once we sat down we realised the cutlery still had old food smeared across it. I took the cutlery back and informed the staff, and picked up new cutlery. Same thing! Over 70% of the 'clean' cutlery was still dirty
The meals came. It was served with garlic bread which was uncooked. All of this nonsense, combined, leads to a less than acceptable experience. This wouldn't be so bad if the prices were not, in some cases, on par with other professional food establishments around the area.
