The restaurant located around Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan and there are two floors for it. As usual, my boyfriend and I arrived the restaurant earlier than the dinner time, thus we have been arranged to sit and wait at the bar counter on the ground floor. Since we are sitting at the bar table, there is no way that we will stay out from alcohol lol. Therefore, we started the dinner with two cocktails, Oh Beehive & Respect Your Elderflower. The Oh Beehive is easy to link up with honey, as it includes the word “bee”. It is basically made with vodka, lavender, marmalade, honey, orange, bee pollen and It was created by the Diego World Class Hong Kong Bartender of 2016, James! Obviously the drink is full of sweet honey flavor and you can taste a hint of marmalade as well, yet the lavender flavor is not standing out. Overall this cocktail is rather sweet, so maybe ladies would be more impressed by it. The one that I picked is Respect Your Elderflower, the only reason why I chose this drink is because of the elderflower. Somehow the word elderflower just make everything perfect for me lol and is sort of remind me of the elder wand from Harry Potter haha. And it surely didn’t disappoint me, the elegant and classy outlook is absolutely eye-catching. The glass is attached with some tiny edible flower and they looks well with the pink alcohol. Beside than the elderflower liqueur, it also include quinine liqueur, osmanthus, lemon juice and soda. The alcohol flavor is stronger than the other flavors, every sip comes along with a bit of flower taste. If you want to please a woman, this will surely be your drink. While I was drinking the cocktail, the dining table is ready. So, we went up to the second floor and sat at the window seats. The seasonal special for November is treasurable White Truffle, you may choose a three or four courses meal that infused with it. We decided to go for a four courses meal and all the dishes are served with 2 grams of sliced white truffle.
To begin with the Carpaccio di Manzo, con Tartufo Bianco d’Alba, a delicate appetizer. The thin-sliced beef, topped with pickled mushroom, marsala jelly and two grams of white Alba truffle. To all the meat lovers, this appetizer would be the only dish with meat. Nonetheless, don’t need to feel depressed, you should enjoy the actual truffle flavor than the meat here. I was a bit shocked that the white truffle is not as heavy as I thought, it contains a light mushroom taste. The salmon caviar liked marsala jelly will explode in your mouth and bring the dish to another level. Another appetizer is Uovo Tartufo con Asparagi , a soft organic egg pair with grilled asparaguses and of course two grams of White Alba Truffle. Slightly cut the poached egg, the egg yolk will just leak out right away. The asparaguses are perfectly cooked, which are crunchy and easy to chew. Besides that, there are some pink peppercorns in the sauce and that can bring some exciting flavor to the dish. However the white truffle is quite taste, it might covered by the egg, asparagus and pink peppercorns. It’s time for the main course, we have selected Pizza Bianco con Tartufo Bianco d’Alba as the main. The chewy pizza crust is topped with diced porcini mushroom, buffalo mozzarella, parmesan and the highlight two grams of White Alba Truffle. Since there are some diced porcini mushrooms, the whole pizza carries a rich mushroom taste. Moreover, this pizza is extremely cheesy and that hint of cheese flavor works with the mushroom taste. Nevertheless, I can’t tell whether is the white truffle brings out the mushroom flavor or the porcini mushroom. The last course is the dessert, which it sounds quite special and interesting. Grappa Zabaione e Tartufo Bianco d’Alba is the glazed and sliced figs pair with orange zabaglione and white Alba truffle. The orange zabaglione is made with orange peel and juice, egg yolk, sugar and Marsala wine, the texture is rather similar to thick cream. The sour and sweet figs taste oddly delicious with the refreshing orange zabaglione, then it contains a light truffle flavor. This is truly an unique Italian dessert that you cannot find it easily at elsewhere in Hong Kong.
