Came to Taylor Shellfish restaurant for lunch, 1pm on a Tuesday with one friend. From the being seated, the entire service was terrible! We asked for a set lunch menu, since it was lunchtime and the waiter looked lost and surprised at this basic request.We ordered the avocado salad and fish & chips. My friend had iced tea, and I asked for ginger beer. The waiter returns to say they're out of ginger beer, so I took an ice tea. Nope. They only had enough ice tea for my friend but not me! Right. I'
We ordered the avocado salad and fish & chips. My friend had iced tea, and I asked for ginger beer. The waiter returns to say they're out of ginger beer, so I took an ice tea. Nope. They only had enough ice tea for my friend but not me! Right. I'll have orange juice. None. Pineapple juice? Try again. Ice coffee. Also met with a no. Eventually, I ask what available drink CAN I please have? Water? Out of that too? Is this even a restaurant?
Then the salad arrived after 20mins. So lame that we didn't take a photo and only half was edible. 40mins later, the table of 4 guests next to us threatens to walk out as they were still waiting for their food and need to get back to work. The restaurant is not even super busy....another 5mins later, we did just that. Paid for the drinks and paltry salad and left, foodless. I never did receive the fish & chips and was starving almost 1hr later!
There are SO many other decent places on Sai Ying Pun High Street.
If you wish to eat food at lunchtime, DO NOT come here. You will be hungry and angry by the lack of food and service!
