Friends who work outside Central are usually reluctant to pick dining options in Central and used to think that restaurants there are either too high-end or too cliché for gatherings. I used to think alike, until I discovered this hidden gem which is somewhere in between. Not the signature Tsui Wah, but AMAZAKE, the Japanese eatery under the Prive Group.AMAZAKE is not hard to find if you know where the famous club, LEVELS, is. AMAZAKE is not hard to find if you know where the famous club, LEVELS, is. Lunch sets are priced reasonably (within the area) at around $150-200, nonetheless late night bites are surprisingly good for value especially when the spending is more for dinner time. Well matched with its pricing, AMAZAKE is simply in a casual, friendly setting that welcomes and fits for various kinds of meet-ups – it can be for business chit-chats around the bar area, dinner with friends at the dining tables, or late bites before parties. Items on the a la carte menu are highly varied, ranging from snacks to main courses which can easily fit and satiate different customer groups. Sakura ($115) and Nakamura Ichigo ($105) A little bit of alcohol is indispensable to shift us from the weary working mode to party mode. Sakura cocktails are featured in the recent promotion, apparently being more appealing to sakura-addicted girls than boys! Sakura ($115) and Nakamura Ichigo ($105) We picked two of them on the menu and mine was simply named “Sakura”, the bright pink colour of which was attributed by the dominating cranberry juice. These drinks look so similar to those at the Common Room (the smoothie cocktails), which is a restaurant under the same restaurant group, no wonder. DIY sushi platter $250
