To Kwa Wan is definitely a place I rarely visit as all I can think of is warehouse in this area. I have read and heard of many nice restaurants in this area so finally came here to try. I thought it was just the normal lobster soup which I had in the past but it was out of my expectation when it was placed on our table. The soup was full of surprises! There was a layer of cream foam on top and it was so dense. The soup was so hot that it nearly burned my lips....yes, I was too hungry. My mouth was so watery as the lobster fragrant was so strong . The lobster soup was thick and the dense foam, it gives the soup a nice smooth texture.

In the pot, there was mussels (plenty of it), onion, garlic, carrot, celery and white Belgium beer. The mussels was tender and the Belgium beer flavor completely soaked it. The other ingredients like onions, garlic, carrot and celery did not override the mussels taste. Fries was delicious, my favorite fat thick fries...hands down.

Carbonara was never my favorite or will order dish as it always leave our mouth filled with thick cream sauce and it seems too heavy for a dish. What made me change my mind tonight?...well, it was the table beside me because the carbonara looks different from the ones I normally had. This carbonara does not looks like it was fully covered with thick cream sauce. There was plenty of bamboo shoots on top with tomatoes and spring onions. The bacon was crispy and did not leave our mouth greasy. After the first bite, both of us fell in love with it. The linguine texture was chewy and the sauce wasn't heavily. It was finished in no time.

The vanilla ice cream was drowned in espresso. Espresso was strong enough which is a nice finish to the dinner.
