Came for dinner with a few friends, one person was running a whole hour late. Ordered drinks to start and ordered food half hour later. There were around 3 servers running the floor. Pros:-Nice vibes-No seating time limit-Weren’t pushed to order more drinks-Half open air, great when temperature is still low -Good dishes: firefly squid, chicken karaage, queen avocado-OK dishes: spam musubi, potato salad, Service Issues:-Server not ready with materials to take order, had to remind him our order li

Pros:
-Nice vibes
-No seating time limit
-Weren’t pushed to order more drinks
-Half open air, great when temperature is still low
-Good dishes: firefly squid, chicken karaage, queen avocado
-OK dishes: spam musubi, potato salad,
Service Issues:
-Server not ready with materials to take order, had to remind him our order list is long
-Server not familiar with restaurant’s own iPad ordering system, or faulty iPad? Ordering took over 5mins while repeating items again and again to server
-Asked for all food except appetisers to be held, but sharing plate shows up
-Had to find another server to ask to hold the dishes again, don’t trust first server to get it right anymore.
-No server communication : asked first server to unhold the dishes as second server MIA. Guy tells me to tell the chef myself, and the chef will serve in his own time. Am sat at the bar across from chef but this was rude.
Food issues:
-Dishes appear haphazardly, no pattern or logic to appearance. Potato salad appetiser appeared last.
-Missed 2 dishes, a musubi and a udon. The udon coming last is fine, but the missing musubi should’ve come with rest of musubi’s.
-Shishito peppers - could use some char/ cook longer to soften. I also don’t think item served are shishito peppers. They look more like Fresno peppers.
-Seaweed ceviche: this tastes like/is prepackaged chuka salad sold at premium price.
-Crab musubi : full sticks of imitation crab on rice. This should be renamed or have some indication it is not real crab?
-Waygu truffle musubi : underwhelmed by dry, overfried beef patty and truffle Mayo sauce. Cannot feel this is wagyu at all, and combination is very oily.
Conclusion:
Food is mediocre, prices don’t translate into quality ingredients. We ordered more than we could finish, and didn’t splurge on drinks, but still came to $550/person. Service was patchy between OK and terrible. The chef seemed overwhelmed by number of orders.
