I don’t really come to North Point too often. North Point to me..it’s just a MTR transit station from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island side. One time my friend suggested this dessert place after brunch! Since I have never been here before, so…just give it a go! Clover cake & coffee house isn’t too far away from the MTR station, just around 10 minutes walking distant.
The main entrance of the place looks really sweet & lovely, like a small localized cafe in the neighborhood. The cafe is tidy & clean inside with around 5-6 tables, which can accommodate for 20 people max. The staffs are nice & friendly! There are menu on the table of the cashier before ordering. There are drinks menu on the top of the kitchen area. All the cakes are placed next to the cashier. Different colors from all those cakes are so beautiful & cheerful for a weekend dessert after brunch! Since we were 3 of us, we bought 4 cakes to share. First up was Passion Fruit Mango cake!! The yellow color is so bright, which made people happy!! The taste was very refreshing & light. The taste of the passion fruit was sour, but it’s balanced out from the sweetness of mango. We were all pretty surprise when we cutted the cake open, ’cause there were some mango slides in the cake!!!! So thoughtful!!! Green tea couldn’t pass our eyes!!!! We have to order something in green tea if we saw it!!!! The green tea flavor wasn’t that strong, but the cake was smooth & just the prefect amount of sweetness. Haru…it’s a spring seasonal special, but it’s still available now. It’s consists layers of green tea, earl grey and blackcurrant with a macaron on top. In term of taste, it didn’t really scream ‘SPRING!’ to me , but this one tasted nice though. The green tea & earl grey layers were perfect, but I’m not really a fans of blackcurrant. I love the color combination, which looks very much like spring! Chocolate!!! Another thing can’t pass our eyes other than green tea. A layer of chocolate ganache coated the chocolate mousse & the chocolate sponge cake inside. The middle of the cake is a layer of fresh orange velvet with orange flavored liqueur. The base of the cake is made out of crunchy cereal, which added a different texture to the airy chocolate mousse.
Chocolate & orange is always combination in dessert, some people like it; some people don’t. In this case, the chocolate has a really nice balance with the orange flavor. So, I’ll definitely order it again! According to my friends, lots of people order greea tea latte there. But I want to try something different, so I ordered cinnamon latte. I love cinnamon, so I found it quite nice. The latte wasn’t too sweet or too bitter, just perfect to go with the cakes.
