近日經過西環的高街,大家或許會發現一座外貌近似地鐵車站的建築。錯了,地鐵沒有那麼快進軍到西環,這個其實是區內最新的法式酒吧餐廳 - Metropolitain。餐廳的名字取自巴黎著名的地鐵車站 「Metropolitain」,故此外型也刻意配合了主題。雖然店舖的面積比預期中細小,但喜歡她的格調極富法國地道小店的風味,牆身的擺設僅有寥寥的幾幅法國地圖和歐陸風格的海報,裝潢簡單但很有個性。小店主打的是 bistro style 的法式美食,如鵝肝醬、焗田螺、牛扒他他等等常見的小吃款款都應有盡有。用膳當日名廚 Harlan Goldstein 也是座上客,眼見他跟大廚和經理有講有笑,看似頗為熟稔。 炸魷魚 (Grade: 3.5/5)我們首先點來一碟炸魷魚,粉漿做得不會太厚或太薄,令酥炸的魷魚圈和魷魚鬚入口更香脆惹味,加上廚師自家製的他他醬,整體味道不錯。 焗田螺 (Grade: 3.5/5)用蒜蓉牛油來焗的田螺亦甚有風味,廚師在調味之中刻意保持輕盈,卻成功利用菠菜蓉和麵包糠來增加口感,難怪看到 chef Harlan 也吃得津津有味。 自家製鵝肝醬、配多士 (Grade: 3/5)這道自家

我們首先點來一碟炸魷魚,粉漿做得不會太厚或太薄,令酥炸的魷魚圈和魷魚鬚入口更香脆惹味,加上廚師自家製的他他醬,整體味道不錯。

自家製鵝肝醬、配多士 (Grade: 3/5)
這道自家製的鵝肝醬是其中一款相對較為遜色的頭盤,鵝肝醬入口可算幼滑,但臊味可以更濃,酒香亦可更醇。從這頭盤當中,個人反而較欣賞餐廳特別用來配搭鵝肝醬的甜醬。

這種自製的甜醬用料有杏甫、西梅乾和葡提乾,入口雖有點黏稠但蜜味香濃,跟鵝肝醬的味道實在相當匹配。

醃三文魚沙律 (Grade: 3/5)
三文魚用了 gravadlax 的做法,以鹽、黑胡椒、茴香等醃製過後捲成花朵形狀,再配以芝士和沙律上碟,口感有點兒像煙三文魚,可惜份量略嫌較少。

野菌意大利飯 (Grade: 4/5)
主菜揀選了野菌意大利飯,飯入口非常 creamy,口感煙韌而且野菌味濃,想不到法式小店也有如此出色的意大利飯。

總結
頭盤有八九款選擇,除鵝肝醬 ($158) 之外,全部一律一百元有找。主菜的數量也大致差不多,牛、羊、雞、魚和蔬菜各式其式。

單從味道出發,Metropolitain 未必擁有最出色的法式小吃,但論個性,她在西環的確是獨一無二。

We came there to visit the new restaurant of the famous French Creation Group called Metropolitain, french name of metro in France. First of all before coming in, the restaurant is quite big with roughly 40 places, some inside, some on a pleasant terrace. As I used to live in France during many years the design has been made with a lot of taste and of course it looks like the Parisian Metro; steel beams on the ceiling, a huge old map of Paris, tiled walls, smoothed concrete on the floor... The similarity is really well adapted.

Tables and chairs design are very nice and comfortable and typical to Paris.
Inside you can have drink or eat on a bar just in front of the wonderful kitchens watching the cookers.
And what cookers!!! The food is amazing especially the salmon Tartare I tried! We tasted Hot Camembert, Beef Tartare and the lamb, all these meals were tasty with subtle flavours. The food is as worthy as very good French restaurants.
The service is very efficient, the wine list very interesting... A great moment we had with friends we finished on a delicious chocolate fondant on the terrace.
In short, I highly recommend this new restaurant with very tasty food in a typical environment.
