It was really ages since my last Japanese-style buffet experience! This time we came here for dinner as we were attracted by the super cheap price - $238 per head for a 2-hour dinner buffet plus 10% service charge. You get a 10% discount from OpenRice too. So why wait?! And it was maybe one of the reasons why there were so many people even on a week day at night during the fight against the pandemic. So in general there were a lot of choices of different food items and quality was quite good - r
So in general there were a lot of choices of different food items and quality was quite good - really good when discounted by price. Let me bring you to a tour around.
Sashimi
Sashimi Bowl

There were 12 types of sashimi to choose from, including 大赤蝦, 甜蝦, 北海道帶子刺身, 劍魚腩, 希靈魚, 松葉蟹棒, 鮑片, 北海道角螺, 空運大目吞拿魚, 北寄貝,油甘魚&三文魚.
PickyCouple's recommendations: (i) 北海道帶子刺身 were the best as they were so thick and fresh and meaty! (ii) 大赤蝦 were giant and fresh and meaty too! (iii) 甜蝦 were smaller but they were so fresh and sweet indeed. (iv) Both 油甘魚&三文魚 were thick and fresh and fatty.
Sashimi Sushi
There were 8 types of sashimi sushi and we tried 7 of them, including 京蔥三文魚腩 , 柚子油甘魚腩 , 黑松露吞拿魚醬油漬,香草牛油果醬煙三文魚 and 香蔥玉子. The amount of rice was quite small so you wouldn't find them too filling.
PickyCouple's recommendations: (i) 蟹膏皇帝蟹腳 was really fresh crab meat! (ii) 黑松露赤蝦 was very rich in black truffle and the red shrimp was fresh and meaty!
Seared Sushi

There were 6 types of seared sushi and we tried 5 of them, including 火焰牛油蒜蓉三文魚, 火灸芝味和牛, 火灸鳗魚 and 芝士蟹棒黃金燒. Again, the amount of rice was pretty small with very nice smell of seared fish oil on top of the rice.
PickyCouple's recommendations: 秘醬厚燒玉子 as the secret sauce was really quite delicious.
Creative Sushi
There were 4 types of creative sushi and we tried all, including 海苔牛油果醬伴鮑汁元貝, 鵝肝伴帶子壽司 and 海膽吞拿魚茸壽司.
PickyCouple's recommendations: 忌廉芝士玉子燒 was quite good with sea eel and cheese and yet without rice! We ordered a lot more to encore!
Handrolls
There were 3 types of handrolls and we tried all, namely 松葉蟹膏, 龍蝦沙律 and 海膽. They were all very mini. Seaweed was super crispy.

There were 4 types of 軍艦 on the left and we tried all, including 蟹子, 香蔥吞拿魚茸, 山葵八爪魚 and 黑松露樱花鱿魚.
PickyCouple's recommendations: (i) 香蔥吞拿魚茸 as there were loads of minced tuna. (ii) 山葵八爪魚 had super crispy octopus yet not too spicy with wasabi. (iii) 黑松露樱花鱿魚 was really rich in black truffle with crispy squid.
There were 6 types of rolls and we tried all, including 樱花戀人 (i.e. Squid & fatty swordfish) and 黃金小卷 .
PickyCouple's recommendations: (i) 香芒忌廉芝士加州卷, (ii) 意大利黑醋雙重芝士鳗魚卷, (iii) 海鮮火焰三文魚卷 and (iv)花之戀.
Then here you go the hot dishes.
Tempura
There were 5 types of tempura and we tried all. Although the batter didn't look thin, they were so crispy and super freshly made! They were still hot and juicy when eaten.
PickyCouple's recommendations: (i) 龍躉 was fresh and juicy! (ii) 有機蕃薯仔 was sweet & thick. (iii) 溫室南瓜 (iv) 溫室蘆筍 and (v) 虎蝦 . Basically all ingredients were fresh and they were nicely done.
炸物
貓山榴槤炸彈&自家製吉列炸蠔

There were 6 types of deep fried food items but we just tried 2. Our stomach was getting filled up by that time haha.
PickyCouple's recommendations: (i) 自家製吉列炸蠔 was super juicy. It was an item to encore! (ii) 貓山榴槤炸彈 was like chewy balls which were so tasty with lava durian. Even I who was never a fan of durian could accept it and encored once. The flavour of durian lingered in my throat for a long time after the feast.
燒物
There were 6 types of grilled dishes, of which we tried 3.
PickyCouple's recommendations: (i) 蒲燒鰻魚 was of nice quality which we encored. (ii) 燒紐西蘭羊鞍 had crispy crust yet still tender and pink inside. They were also well seasoned. We had to admit that the quality was very good given that it was a all-you-can-eat buffet! Another item to encore! (iii) 西京比目魚 was juicy with delicious salad dressing. The skin was so crispy too. Well Done!
串燒
There were 7 types of skewers and we tried 3 of them.
PickyCouple's recommendations: (i) 鹽燒牛舌 was chewy and rich in beef flavour. They were well seasoned. (ii) 鹽燒雞軟骨 was quite crispy and well salted. (iii) 沙嗲雞串 was tender and well seasoned in satay sauce.
Japanese Dishes
Our stomach were too small to try these. Please forgive us.
廚師推介
There were 6 types of Chef's Recommendations and we tried 4 including 鐵板安格斯牛仔骨.
PickyCouple's recommendations: (i) 竹笙瑤柱蟹肉翅 had quite a lot of real 竹笙 and it was like a bowl of tasty 碗仔翅 out there! (ii) 燕窩燉蛋 was a cold dessert. There were really some real 燕窩 on top. (iii) 車打芝士焗蘆筍 had fresh asparagus.
一品料理
There were 8 types of 一品料理 and we tried three including XO醬蜜糖豆炒象拔蚌.
PickyCouple's recommendations: (i) 香辣咖喱炒蟹 was very delicious with meaty crab in sweet and tasty sauce. The crab had quite some meat and there was a claw! (ii) 黑松露炒雜菌 were well done and were so rich in black truffle. Black truffle lovers would definitely love it. A side note that it seemed that most black truffle items they offered were really rich in black truffle. So pay attention please Black Truffle lovers.

They also had cheese tarts and egg tarts. I had each of them. The cheese tart was really recommended because the cheese custard was so soft and rich in cheese!

We could each choose an ice-cream cup from Haagen Dazs, Movenpick or Dreyer's of a few choices for each brand. For Haagen Dazs, they had Belgian Chocolate, Caramel Biscuit & Cream and this Summer Berries and Cream which was seasonal. They had vanilla and strawberry for Movenpick. A perfect end to the meal!
Seating was very comfortable as they had to allow some distances among different tables. Service was reasonable as it didn't take too long for our food to arrive. Although inevitably there were some missing orders, most of the food items we had ordered arrived in reasonable times. So definitely sufficient time for you to try all the food you would love to try. In view of the quality and variety of food and drinks against the cheap price, it was really highly recommended.
