It was raining very heavily so I just went somewhere close by for lunch. I had passed by this small Pho bar a number of times but it was often flooded by people. We arrived slightly later than the usual lunch hours and we could immediately get our seats at the corner of the bar. Its entrance was not very obvious so you might need to look a while for the bar. Its menu was quite simple - just one simple page and you could tick against your choices. The mains were mostly Vietnamese-style noodles and you could choose the noodles/toppings as you like - some at an additional cost. There were some Korean-style sides too like deep-fried chicken and fries. My lunch partner and I decided to order a mains each and two sides to share.

Beef lovers must like this 生熟美國頂級牛肉河粉. We were so aggressive that we topped it up by $30 for an additional portion of 生熟美國頂級牛肉 and $20 for an additional portion of 牛腩. We wanted to ask for beef shank too but it was out of stock unfortunately. There were really loads of beef slices and they were not yet fully cooked, i.e. still rosy, when served. They were really quite tender and rich in beef flavour.

Even better were the beef briskets. There were 5 big and thick pieces of beef briskets which were crispy, chewy and rich in beef flavour with appropriate amount of fat! They were really great value for money. We asked for 河粉 rather than 金邊粉. They were quite smooth and didn't get too starchy or soft even having been soaked in the broth for quite a while. The broth was rich in beef and not greasy at all. I was quite sure it was free of MSG as we didn't feel thirsty at all after our meal. We asked for all the available toppings which included 金不換,蔥,炸蒜,洋蔥 and 芫茜. So bad the bean sprouts were quite of stock otherwise I am sure it would have been better. After adding the lime and chili served on the side, the broth tasted even more appetising with slightly sweet and spicy flavour! Yummy!

There were 4 slices of grilled pork neck and they were very crispy with 燶邊! There were sweet & sour pickled carrot and radish slices, cucumber slices and lettuce pieces to add texture and flavour to the bowl. The deep-fried garlic also helped. The accompanying sauce was very special. It was not like those 魚露 out there. It was not sweet and just sour and you wouldn't find your mouth stink for a long long while after eating - maybe because it was free of garlic. Those who liked sweet sauce might be disappointed though.

All the wings were served with just 1 single bone as they were cut into halves so it was much easier to eat. The sauce was really good - it explained the term 秘制. We suspected that the sauce was some mustard sauce with mayo. It was quite thick and creamy and made the wings taste so good. Of course the wings themselves were nicely deep-fried with super crispy skin.

爆炸雞 was served with 3 plates of sauce - namely 秘制, 明太子 and tartar. There were 5 pieces of chicken and they had super crispy skin and juicy + tender chicken. I personally liked the 秘制 sauce most which we suspected that it should be some slightly spicy mustard sauce. It was actually quite similar to the sauce on the wings maybe just slightly less thick with less mayo. But we were told that the sauce was different from that for the wings.
Quite a fulfilling meal indeed. Food was delicious in general. 牛魔王 like us would definitely love the 生熟美國頂級牛肉河粉, and the top up for beef briskets seemed to be of particular great value for money. Service was efficient so we finished all our food within 30 min. There was also one big bottle of hand sterilizer on the table for better hygiene.
