My friend asked me out for lunch today and suggested grill buffet since we can chat and eat for a long time. Magic Lantern Grill was located at Ginza Square, couple of minutes walk from Yau Ma Tei MTR.It was located at the basement of the plaza, with the place huge and spacious. For their buffet, there was 3 pricing to choose from, level 1 to 3. They were priced from $238 to $428.
They offered several choices ranging from soft drinks, herbal drinks, bottled drinks as well as wide range of beer and Japanese sake. Herbal drink and water chestnut drink were suitable for grill meat, very cooling.
We seldom saw dried puffer fish and squid in buffet, thus we ordered it. It was grilled till chewy, with charred taste at the edge.
Kimchi was crunchy and juicy, slightly spicy.
Smoked salmon salad - Salmon was chewy and slightly fatty, with mayo sauce added to the salad, which was crunchy and fresh.
Fried cheese and honey cake was soft and cheesy, with alot of melting cheese in it. Fried durian ball was surprisingly good, with the skin fried till crispy and the durian filling was soft, with strong durian taste.
Fried chicken wings was crispy and juicy, with the chicken smooth. Croissant was soft and crispy, fluffy as well.
Oyster in garlic - Oyster was very smooth and juicy, with the minced garlic making it very flavourful. Tiger prawns were grilled till chewy and charred in taste.
We ordered an assorted beef from Australia, Japan and USA. They were sliced till thin in texture, grilled till tender and juicy, with BBQ sauce and salt provided to enhance the taste.
Red bean soup with taro was chewy and sweet in taste, with the soup served hot and thick in texture.
Peach and lychee jelly were smooth and sweet in taste.
Chocolate ice cream was milky, have strong chocolate taste.
