Lunch with Picky Eater, who came all the way from Central again. I decided to pick this restaurant that I’ve always wanted to try. When I arrived I was apprehensive cos it was tiny (maybe seating 5 tables). We were placed right at the entrance with our backs to the customers picking up takeaway. It turned out to be a good seat, since we got to sit side by side away in a quiet corner. I had a glass of house red which was not bad. I had a glass of house red which was not bad. We ordered the tomato bruschetta (appetiser) and 2 pastas (rigatoni with bacon and the ravioli) from the lunch set, plus the clams in white wine from the a la carte menu. First to arrive was the hot bread- felt like thin panini, tasted well with the truffle sauce. We finished all. Clams tasted surprisingly good - the sauce had all kinds flavour coming through, went well with the pieces of the same bread that came with it. Pasta was well made- just the right amount of al dente to impress Picky Eater. Especially worth mentioning was the bits of crispy bacon that we fought over. Too full to order dessert. In summary: the best western restaurant I’ve tried in the Quarry Bay area.👍🏼
