Delicious sweet treats!

Suddenly craved scones and decided to give this place a visit. It was quite a new store at IFC Mall.

Ordered a Parisian Afternoon Tea Platter (with 3 savouries & 3 sweets) for 1 person, topping up to get a scone set and a Signature Black Truffle Soft Serve with waffle cone.

 When the afternoon tea platter came, I was quite disappointed because it wasn't served on a standard tea set.  

The waiter did introduce each of the savouries and sweets and the scones and cream/jam before leaving the food behind for us to enjoy. There were 3 savouries:
Smoked salmon sandwich - normal
Black Truffle sandwich - a slight taste of Black Truffle yet it was quite creamy
Raspberry liver sandwich - slight taste of liver. The bread tasted a bit special which I quite liked.
Overall, these savouries were ok but not particularly outstanding.

There were 3 sweets:
Rose Opera - I could taste that there were several layers by my tongue. It was not particularly sweet. I think it was quite yummy, better than normal opera because of the berries making it less sweet and appetizing.
Chocolate tart - a pretty strong taste of dark chocolate.
Caramel Religieuse 焦糖修女泡芙

 Caramel Religieuse 焦糖修女泡芙 - it was actually made of 2 puffs. The big puff below tasted quite refreshing with a soft and moist texture yet not overly sweet with the cream inside. Unfortunately, the small puff on top was too sweet, dragging down the overall quality of this patisserie.
Overall, I would say their sweets were better than average.

Scone set (Original & Orange Scones with sour cream & strawberry jam)

 They were served warm. The original scone was so so, a bit too dry and not 鬆 enough. The orange scone was much better with a very good flavour of orange! The sour cream was too light and not fatty/thick enough. The strawberry jam was comparatively better but still nothing comparable to Mandarin's rose jam. Overall, the scone set was not recommended as there were way better scones out there in Central.

 This one was really exceptional! It was great for the hot weather as it was so cold yet free of ice! Texture-wise it wasn't exceptionally smooth like those matcha soft cream out there but I felt like eating some almost ice-like soft cream. The taste was very special indeed and it was really delicious. The taste lingered in my mouth for a long time afterwards. The waffle cone was also very crispy. It was highly recommended.

Service was quite nice too as a waiter kept greeting us with a big grin. Would definitely come back some day for sweet treats.
