The place looks quite nice and the menu has some interesting and authentic dishes, but the quality and authenticity is missing when the food arrives.We were there on Saturday night and the rest of the crowd seemed more concerned about the photos than the food.The service was odd to say the least. The wait staff spent an extraordinarily long time at other tables (discussing what?) and did not bother with us unless we insisted. The service was odd to say the least. The wait staff spent an extraordinarily long time at other tables (discussing what?) and did not bother with us unless we insisted. One of the staff was shaking badly when serving and the wine spilled over the table cloth. They missed on dish ordered entirely, but then did not charge us for it.
My first course of clam and mussel soup was ok. Plenty of garlic in the broth, but clams were small and tough and there was only 1 mussel. Really odd part was that the bread in the soup was some sort of sweetened brioche and the sugar and garlic clashed completely. Not authentic at all. Maybe upping the sugar level for the HK palate?
The osso buco was worse. The sauce was ok but again much too sweet. Clearly sugar was added. The veal lacked flavor and the really strange part was the bone was missing all the marrow. Who serves osso buco with no marrow? Where did it go? Maybe the kitchen staff ate it figuring we would not know any better. Not authentic at all.
Wine list was seriously over-priced. All the selections were from one big Italian mass producer. No quality at all, The quantity was good if you bought it by the glass though.
