After a day of hiking and water sports, I was ready to take the ferry back to HK Island when I realised that I had half an hour to kill before my ferry came. The outside of the mochi (black glutinous rice skin) was thin enough to provide the slight stretch and yet thick enough to give texture and structure to the mochi, while the mango core was generous and slightly tangy, giving the dessert that extra freshness. It was such a delightful treat that I regretted not getting more to bring home. It was a marvellous experience and I would definitely go back to this shop next time I visit Cheung Chau.
